I agree with you. Being sensitive to our kids is the best way to go whether is learning the alphabets or going to the toilet. When they are ready, things are just so much easier. Like you, I probably spent a lot of money on diapers but I’m a lazy mommy. I don’t even have a potty at home. I just put the kids on the big toilet (with a smaller insert) when they are ready. So all I need to do is flush when they’re done, no need to clean up potties. Haha. The best thing we can do for our kids and for ourselves is to listen to them. Btw, congratulations on being diaper free. Soo… what are you going to spend on from the money saved from diapers? How about a gift for yourself as a pat on the back. Lol!

I don’t think you are harsh with your kids at all. If they show interest in certain things, that’s when you teach them.. The stress will begin when they go primary school, why stress them now right? :)

I’m with you on his one, get them while they’re interested. My daughter asked yesterday to learn the Chinese alphabet. This got lots of laughter from me and her Chinese daycare teacher but yes, if she’s willing, let’s go. I’ll dig my Chinese tapes out from the attic and set to learn along side her. All I really learned when I was overseas was “Hot chicken, please.” And, “Where’s the bus I need to go to…?” Should be fun!
