If only it was Real…
Places Kids Love December 4th, 2008
I have never (but WOULD LOVE TO) experience snow before. Though we have Snow City, its still artificial. I want to have snowball fights out in the open and build snowman’s family under the blue sky.
I know we will never experience that in Singapore; being so near to the Equator, only miracles can bring Snow onto this island. Did you say travel overseas? How could we afford, when we are not debt-free yet?
Though Tanglin Mall has been doing this for years, it was during last year did we get to experience their ‘Snow’ with the kids. If we were still in our retail business, this would be the busiest time of the year for us and we would have missed out such family fun, I’m truly glad we are OUT OF THAT!
This is how the place looks like before the ‘Snow’ falls.
And when the engine starts….the ‘Snowing’ begins! Yes they are just bubbles. Lots and lots of them.
Most children will stay near those ‘Snow-blowing-machines’. (left to right) Keatkeat putting his hand near the outlet and see his hand slowly disappear in the ‘Snow’. Some older kids prefer to lift up their shirts and enjoy the strong air pressure on their skin. Even older and obviously not very sensible kids will carry their little sibling high up with their face right infront of the spray and ‘frost’ their little bro or sis till they start to cry! *shake head*
The kids had great fun and so did the adults….so I’ll just let the photos do the talking now…
We brought shirts and towels for them to change. Yup! We went prepared. It was pretty cool for the management to create a washing area right beside the ‘Snow’ Ground…
What a fun way to deceive ourselves…*laugh* till the day we truly experience snow, I guess we’ll continue to do this every year….

I ever went to the one at Tanglin Mall too. That was like donkey years ago when I’m still “part-tohing” LOL :):)
I rem they are some soap creating foam & tend to be quite slippery n messy after that :)

That looks like the kind of snow I would like! I actually don’t like snow at all. Luckily it has not really snowed here this winter yet.

It look so fun!
I am looking forward to bring my boy there! But gotta wait till hes older.
There’s also a Snow city right beside Science Center. Maybe someday you can bring them there too. But I am not sure it there’ll be enough snow to make a snow man…I have not been there too. =P

We have been there once with Ryan when he was about 2yrs old. It was really fun but of course..real snow would be much more thrilling. :)

It ought to be like the real thing, no?
The difference is that you don’t have to be garbed in winter wear…

Just a warning that all of my excitement over the real snow here isn’t shared with too many people. This is an unusual year and we are in the beginning phase of another snow storm. We’re supposed to get 20 cm over the next 24 hours. That’d make about 3 feet.
Be careful what you wish for!
