KoKo Krunch – The Healthier Choice Cereal
HealthWe were very honoured to be invited for the Hands-On Cooking Class with Nestle KoKo Krunch, the Healthier Choice Cereal on Saturday, 22nd March 2014.
Just like every other media invites we had, I will always ask my boys if THEY are interested. I would not want to bring them to a place whereby I will keep hearing “Mummy, I’m bored.” or “Mummy, when is this going to end, I want to go home.” constantly. As much as I would love to go to all Media Invites, the decision maker is still my children. They are happy, I am happier.
When they know that its an event which they get to COOK and EAT, they screamed “YES!!!!”
*laugh*
Though the event was held at a time which made them get out of bed earlier than usual Saturdays, they did NOT drag their sleepy head out of their bed.
*thumbs up*
The Healthier Choice Symbol (HCS) can now be seen on all NESTLÉ KOKO KRUNCH® boxes as they introduce their new brand ambassador, Violet Fenying, the popular MediaCorp Love 97.2FM producer-presenter.
With the HCS being awarded by Health Promotion Board (HPB), I, the parent of the fans of NESTLÉ KOKO KRUNCH® (aka my boys), feel happier when they choose to snack on this compared to potato chips.
Products carrying the HCS, like NESTLÉ KOKO KRUNCH®, are lower in total fat, saturated fat, sodium and sugar. Some are also higher in dietary fibre and calcium compared to similar products within the same food category.
Though my kids eat NESTLÉ KOKO KRUNCH® as a snack most of the time, it is also one of their favourite food to start their day. While we sleep, our stomach is like fasting, thus it is important to ‘Break that Fast’, so as to refuel the body and brain with something that is healthy.
NESTLÉ KOKO KRUNCH® is made with the goodness of whole grain. That means it uses the whole portion of any grain, the Bran (Shell) + Germ + Endosperm.
The Bran contains fibre, B vitamin and iron. The Germ contains B vitamins and iron. The Endosperm provides energy, contains carbohydrates and some B vitamins.
Being high in fibre, whole grains give the feeling of fullness, keep hunger at bay for a longer time and aids digestion.
1 Bowl of NESTLÉ KOKO KRUNCH® which is made with Whole Grain is equivalent to the amount of:-
- fibre in 2 slices of white bread
- iron in 2 plates of spinach
- protein in an egg.
It was so smart for the organiser to set out a table full of nutritious choices for all the guests to feast on before the event started. Binbin loved the fruits, berries and nuts so much that he took a few rounds: Before the event started, during the event and even after the event! *giggle*
Chef Nicole was present that day to teach us how to make Crispy Grilled Cheese with NESTLÉ KOKO KRUNCH® Sandwiches and healthy Chicken Nuggest in crusted NESTLÉ KOKO KRUNCH®.
Growing up in a family of great cooks, Nicole went from making soggy butter prawns at 5 to making Ayam Buah Keluak Ravioli that won her the “Best Taste Award” at the 2008 Singapore Chef Awards. Chef Nicole was trained professionally at the At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy and has been featured in numerous magazines and also appeared in a few tv shows.
It was super fun for my boys as they need to crush the NESTLÉ KOKO KRUNCH®, thus there were lots of hammering going on! For the first time, I allow them to bang Bang and BANG! *laugh*

Once again, I want to thank NESTLÉ KOKO KRUNCH® for inviting us to this fun-filled and yummy event.
