This is Really Weird

Child, School-study

bkKeatkeat came home and told me that he should be leaving his Maths Workbook at home for good! He continued to shock me by saying that I should be assigning him the number of pages to do in that workbook at the pace which I like. I will correct his mistakes and grade him by my standard.

Hhhmmm….

I am trusting my child 100% even though I am finding this really weird. If this Maths Workbook becomes an ‘additional source’ instead of a ‘main source’ of assessment, then WHY is it in the ‘MUST-Have book list’ from the school?

All Singaporean Mommies whose child has gone through Primary One, is that the current school system? Or is Keatkeat’s school special?

fiFirst week of school, Binbin hurt his toe very badly. Its recovering, but still painful when pressed upon.

Second week of school, Binbin hurt his finger. Skin was sliced off too.

Is this going to be a trend? *eyes rolled*

Appease His Anger

Child, Parenting, School-study

Its just NOT my style to ask, “How’s school today?”
Too broad.
Kids love straight-to-the-point.
Well, I myself never liked adults to ask that question.
So I do not do it to my children.

I will always ask….

“Was there anything that made you Happy in School today?”
“Was there anything that made you Sad in School today?”
“Was there anything that made you Laugh in School today?”
“Was there anything that made you Angry in School today?”

Today, the answer was “Yes” to that last question.
Me: “Oh! A little Angry or VERY Angry? What Happened?”

Keatkeat: “VERY ANGRY! The boy beside me drop his water-bottle and it cracked. Make my bag wet! Uuurrrgghhh…!”

Well my boy was in luck today! It was so easy to appease his anger because we brought him to watch his Favourite ~ Lion Dance. All thanks to Carlsberg’s Weekly Lunar New Year Islandwide show. And today their performance was so near our place. *wink*

So the angry boy was all chirpy and happy again after that. *Giggle*

Kids are so easy to please.
How I wish Adults too…..Hhhmmm….
