A day that’s is so auspicious to the Chinese, triple 8. Chinese believes that 8 is a representation of prosperity ‘cos it sounded very much like FA’ (prosper), maybe that’s why Singapore is giving 8 million for the winner of the TOTO draw…..

Keatkeat was doing his usual worksheet (given by me) and when he wrote down the date 08.08.08, even he says, “Wah! Today’s date is so nice!”.

On this auspicious day, my little Keatkeat is extra happy and willing to wake up to go to school for an hour of fun, 8.30am-9.30am. Today, there is not proper curriculum, they are pre-celebrating National Day today.

Every kid was dress in Red Top and White Bottom, just like the Singapore Flag. It was a pretty sight, too bad I forgot to bring the camera down.

Look at that smile on his face and you can tell that he really enjoyed that one hour. Came home, waving his mini-Singapore Flag and the Souvenir – an A5 size pocket folder, “Mommy, I give you this folder to keep your things ok?” *smile*

Well, that’s how my boy gets rid of things that he doesn’t want. *Laugh* I am his ‘walking dustbin’.

Me: “So what did you do in school today?”

Keatkeat: “Sing songs”

Me: “Just sing songs? Did you get to eat anything?”

Keatkeat: “Nope-peli-nope!”

Me: “So what songs did you sing?”

Keatkeat: “S-I-N-G-A-P-O-R-E ….ohhhhhhh…..SINGAPORE! (That’s the Singapore Cheer), Chan Mali Chan….Oi Oi (that’s the Famous Malay song every Singaporean (irregardless of race) would sing on happy occasion), Mari Kita ya…..(the national athem) and the One People One Nation song…..(and he started singing away)”

Me: “So did you enjoy yourself?”

Keatkeat: “Yes-sy!”

On this special day, here’s wishing all of you a Happy and Prosperity Year and Years ahead!!! Feel alittle like Chinese New Year. *laugh*
