Just Say It (con’t)
Child, Parenting, Preschool, School-study February 15th, 2009How was your V-Day yesterday? I spent mine with my PC, which just did a ‘heart transplant’ after having a series of ‘heart attacks’ since Wednesday. All the (re)configurations, transferring of old files, racking my brain trying to remember what was on my bookmark list…. blah blah blah… How Romantic eh?!
—————————————————————————————–
As the title says, this is the continuation of the post ‘Just Say It’ – the ‘Answer’ to the bugging question was out (FINALLY) on Friday. I couldn’t get her through phone calls and Allan has been out since Tuesday, that’s why I could only settle this on Friday. Yet, I can’t post it up cos’ my PC broke down.
Ok, so here’s the Answer:
Keatkeat’s English and Mandarin Teachers are leaving the school this coming Thursday and Friday respectively. Meaning, when Keatkeat is back in school, he’ll have to adapt to the big change of seeing totally new faces on top of catching up with what was taught.
I didn’t ask why she chose not to tell Allan on Monday. For me, so long as I’ve got the answer, I don’t bother about why I couldn’t know it earlier.
Keatkeat is healing well, but we would like to keep him at home for another week so that he will be completely ‘polka-dot’ free when he is back.
*Thank you for being so concern. You girls are amazing. Even few days after my ‘Just Say It’ post, you didn’t fail to ask for the ‘answer’. Guess all of us are more or less the same species, we just hate it when people do that eh?

Angie,
PRECISELY!!!!
Come to think of it, I think it was so terrible of her to say “But you are NOT suppose to know…”
Hey, I think its something that I SHOULD KNOW!!!! *eyes rolled*

hmm…I think they are trying to spare a thought for the child, who is going to adapt to different teachers. Maybe they are keat’s favourite teachers :)
My daughter’s classmate will (still) cry if she sees different teacher.

ling,
then all the more they SHOULD TELL!!!
at least we can prepare the minds of the kid, isn’t it?
by not telling and disappear suddenly is WORSE!!!
Anyway, Keatkeat’s (real) English teacher has left the school last year December, so this (already) a new teacher to him.
*wink*

guess the principal doesn’t want to tell. its bad…at least if we know in advance, we can prepared our kids instead of them getting a shock when they return.

Hmmm.. shouldn’t there be some ethical code to follow for the “well being” of a child when it comes to such situations.
Considering them as a professional education body, they should know something of a child’s psychology and what is good for them, right?
I feel your frustration.

and I thought what was the big secret!! I agreed with you, should tell the kids so that they can be prepared for it and it would be nice for the kids to say a nice goodbye to the teachers…

There is probably a heirarchy that they have to go through to submit resignations. That’s probably why they coudln’t say anything. Maybe she was battling with herself ’cause she really wanted to.

I think these people really dont know how to see things from a child’s perspective or a parents.
And cConsidering they are in this line of work! Sigh….where is their common sense?

Glad he is feeling better. I am sure with you as his Mom KeatKeat will adjust just fine!!! Good luck on it!!!
BTW, the mouth issues I was talking about in my Creating Life blog are that I have canker sores which are genetic and usually come around when I am getting my period. However, with this pregnancy I have had to deal with them daily from the time I discovered I was pregnant…
