Kids Talk – Tooth Fairy
kids talkLying side by side having our usual ‘before bedtime chat’.… Noticed he was ‘playing’ with his shaky teeth as we chatted…
Me: “Keat, I suggest that you do NOT shake your teeth just before bedtime, in case it drop off while you are sleeping and swallowed them.”
Keatkeat: “Will I die?”
Me: “Naahhh…won’t die, just that I can’t keep it in a bag for you to keep.”
Keatkeat: “Oh yes! I need to put it below my pillow for the fairy to find it.”
I have NEVER mentioned Tooth Fairy to him before, so my eyes widened and asked: “How did you know about the Fairy?”
Keatkeat: “She is called ‘Tooth Fairy’. I saw her in the cartoons. If she can find a tooth under my pillow, she will give me money. I want $100! Do you think she knows that I want $100? How can I let her know?”
Me: “You are talking to her now.”
Keatkeat: “Huh? You!? You are tooth Fairy ah? But tooth Fairy got wings leh.”
Me: “My dear, those are in the stories. Not real dear. The one who truly picks up your tooth and put money under your pillow would be me.”
Keatkeat: “So are you going to give me $100? or just a $1 coin?”
*giggle* My son knows me well. *wink* He knows I’ll never give a $100 just like that.
Me: “Well, its meant to be a surprise. So till you put your tooth under your pillow, then you’ll know.”
Keatkeat: “Oh No!!!”
Me: “What??!!”
Keatkeat: “I have 2 pillows! Which one should I put under?! What if you can’t find the tooth? Then I cannot Kaching already!”
*faint*
