Singapore Discovery Centre

Places Kids Love

The boys received this from school before the year end school holidays started :

We just need to pay $15 for each adult and we will also be entitled to the 4 items listed in the first picture above.

There were four shows for us to choose and we chose these two :~

Rise of the Guardians was AWESOME!!! Totally enjoyed it, even though it took a long while before my eyes could adjust to the 3D effect. Remember in one of those movies post I wrote some time back, I mentioned that 3D movies make me feel giddy?

However, Tornado Alley was a disappointment.

As we went to Singapore Discovery Centre after lunch and the boys spent ALOT of time in the Design Think Tank room to create their own toy, we did NOT have time to go for the other two things which we were entitled to: the Exhibits Gallery and the Exclusive Bus Tour of SAFTI Military Institute.

They could submit their creation for the Design-A-Toy Challenge, however, they would rather bring their masterpiece home.

Photobucket

Need not pay a single cent for this handicraft area and all materials placed there are free for all to use, no limitation at all! *Thumbs Up*

Always love to see that look of intense concentration on their faces whenever they are doing handicraft work…. *smile*

Kitkit’s toy was so complicated that he needed help…

With new toys in their hands, they left Singapore Discovery Centre happily on a very wet day. Thank goodness our car was parked beside the shelter.

So by spending $30 in total that day, the kids had new toys to bring home and the four of us get to watch two 3D movies on the same day. Its definitely a treat!

I have TWO MORE coupons, if you would like to have them, just be the first to comment in the comment box below this blog post shouting “I want the coupons” or something of that sort and email your address to angeline@AllAboutYourChild.com and I will fly the coupons to you.

Sentosa – Luge and SkyRide

Places Kids Love

continuation from previous postSentosa – Underwater World Singapore” …

Photobucket

Photobucket

Oh yes! They were CRAZY over the luge…errrmm… actually I was too!!! *laugh*

Photobucket

Photobucket

However, the voucher which I bought earlier (read this post) only entitled us to go for one round of luge and skyride.

Luge brings you down the hill and the skyride brings you back up.

I love go-karts, remember this post in year 2008 “Escape Theme Park“? We enjoyed it so much. Well, I find luge quite similar to go-kart.

Photobucket

This is NOT the first time for my boys to be on the Luge and SkyRide, unlike us. Kitkit and Binbin went for their first, with their beloved Ah Yi and Yi-Zhang, several years back. Look at their chubby faces back then.

Aren’t they adorable???!!! Aaawww….

Photobucket

Photobucket

During that time, they were obviously below the required minimum height, so they sat on the Luge with the adults. This time they were on their own! It definitely raised their level of excitement and the enthusiasm glowed in their eyes! *smile*

Photobucket

I could not take any photo of any of us on the luge as no photography was allowed in the ‘seating‘ area.

PhotobucketWe took the Dragon Trail and we loved it!

Once was NOT enough for the kids and I, we wanted to go for the Luge again, but Allan was not that keen, he prefers go-kart more.

Anyhow, right after we scrambled out of our Luge, we hopped into the Skyride.

All was fine until I saw how high I was!!!!

Oh man! I was sooooooooooo afraid! My legs were dangling in mid-air and they were going numb!

I dare not open my eyes anymore! There was a point where Binbin was doing some sort of ‘hip-dancing’ and the whole thing SHOOK!!!

I yelled at him!
Oh man!
I was terrified!
I could not think straight at all!
I just wanted the ride to end FAST!
Like IMMEDIATELY, there and then, stop!

Photobucket

Allan finds my extreme reaction very strange because I love to sit on roller coasters. In fact, we had already planned for our 3rd Legoland Malaysia trip, but with my my in-laws this time, 6 kids and 8 adults, before school reopens.
Each niece is already ‘fighting‘ to sit beside me, the ONLY ADULT, among the 8, who is more than willing to go on any roller coaster ride, so that I could ‘give them courage’. *laugh*
Yet, look at me now! Totally petrified by a slow-moving-high-rise-transport! *faint*

Photobucket

Well, its just different!
Roller coaster moves along a track and my feet can rest on the cart.
The ride moves fast and the scary feeling ends in seconds too.
Unlike Skyride!
My legs felt so insecure, dangling in open space!
The only thing that kept me from falling from the sky was a ‘thick hook and rope’.
The bench was made of strips of metal, where I can see through them.
If I was without my pants, I bet my butt can feel the wind flying by between those strips!
*Scream*

I love the Luge but hates the Skyride.
How???!!!
We do not want to walk up the hill after every Luge ride, but it seems that Skyride was the only thing that can bring us back up.
How???!!!

My dear Allan ‘sacrificed‘.
He decided to drive to the bottom of the slope, where the Luge ride ends and waits for us over there, so that I do not need to take the Skyride back up. Oh yes, I forgot to mention that we DROVE our car into Sentosa that day.

With his support, he satisfied his children’s wishes and his wife’s too.
Yes, the 3 of us went for it once again, without the big guy.
This round, we went on the Jungle Trail, with more sharp bends, cool!

Seriously, we were very tempted to go for the 3rd time, but thinking that poor Allan got to drive up and down again…. Hhhmmm…. better not.
So till I find another way to bring us up the slope, other than taking the Skyride, from the end of the Luge ride back to the beginning of the Luge ride, I do not think I will venture it again.

We are a family, we should have fun together and not leave anyone behind……
