A Group of Penguins is Called?
School-study October 19th, 2010Everywhere on the internet said that a group of Penguins is either called rookeries or waddle or raft; depending on where the Penquins are : in nest, on land or in water. Penguin chicks in a colony are called a creche.
BUT
none of these are in the options for Keatkeat’s trial exam paper.
Which option below would you choose?!

I remembered I saw that it was a ‘troop’ of penguins from Leapfrog’s Let’s Go to School DVD a while back. Need to go home and double check though. ^^

On the other hand, someone mentioned it’s called a ‘parcel’ here: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_a_group_of_penguins_called
Now I’m confused. o_0

WaveSurfer,

That’s why I am so confused…. so confused until I had to POST this up…

Based on the two sources here. I think it should be (3) parcel.

Angela,
since the sentence says that ‘parcel’ is used regardless of location,
so I guess I’ll just choose ‘parcel’ then…
hhhmmm….

Definitely not a swarm nor a herd… a troop sounds more accurate!^-^

Browsing through your readers comments… ‘parcel’, wow… what grade is your child now? His test sounds complicated!
