Final Year Examination!
*Deep Breath*
I am exhausted…… mentally!
If only my son loves examination period as much as I do. I would be having a breeze…. *eyes rolled* Alright, I am the weird one. Don’t you like exams, especially Final Year Examination?
‘Cos after the Final Year Examination, you can enjoy the long school break to have all the fun you want….. On top of that, Final Year Examination is also the time whereby you hardly have any schoolwork to bring home, aka homework! Best of all, it is the time to know how smart you are! I just Love taking Final Year Examination papers! Tell me I am not alone, you feel the same way too? *wink*
Alright back to my 6 year old Keatkeat taking his very first Final Year Examination. He wrote so much worksheets from school and from me that he started to have funny finger actions lately. I am still waiting for a chance to catch him doing it and put it up on video. ‘Cos Keatkeat loves to be on screen, so the moment he knows I am filming him, he will start to look at the camera and make all sorts of pose. *eyes rolled*
Will try to find a chance to catch that moment when he is writing….
Back to Final Year Examination.
He’s oral examination for both English and Chinese language was on 20th September. His composition examination paper was yesterday. *phew* Remember my post ‘Another Daddy-Mommy Talk‘, I was drilling him on his composition and when I asked him yesterday, “Keatkeat, how was your composition examination today?”
My primary one kid replied with absolute confidence, “Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy.”
*eyes rolled*
Oh well, we shall see…..we shall see….
*fingers and toes crossed*
So there are 5 more Final Year Examination papers to go.
Is your child or children having Final Year Examination ‘fever’? or are they having Final Year Examination ‘ ecstasy’? *giggle*
No matter which one it is, here’s wishing all children around the world who is going through this exam period:
‘Good Luck and all the best for the Final Year Examination!’

Janice dear,
how I wish I can reply ‘Yes’, but its not….
I received ‘warning calls’ from both his teachers last month, that if I don’t start to do ‘something’ to Keatkeat, he is going to fail his exam… *pout* and they said it infront of him. Keatkeat was affected by the remarks.
So to pull up his self-esteem… I, a Mommy who believes in go-with-the-flow learning, ended up drilling him on his studies…
soooooo NOT me!!! *sob*

most of the schools are not having exams for p1 now. Same goes for mine. They believe in letting the kids get used to the education system, before stressing them. So what my school has now is show n tell, reading aloud, bitesize tests etc.

do try to use reward system with keat. I know you are a wonderful mummy who doesn’t stress ur kids, and love to give your kids freedom, and a beautiful childhood memories, but hope you dun mind my honesty, I understand where keat’s teachers are coming from. They really want to help keat. Right now, keat is in p1, so catching up is still easy. If he proceeds on to p2, p3, p4 etc, more things to learn, and catching up will be harder. Some gave up especially in p5 and p6 (well, my students!) cause they don’t even have the foundation there, and have sooo much difficulties coping with learning with new things that are often linked to old things that they had learnt before. So hope keat does well in his exams and goes on to achieving good results thereafter. jiayou!!!
