Happy 4th Birthday to Binbin

Special Moments

lastYes! My boy is 4 today! An age which I am expecting the worst display of temperaments from my Rooster boy. The transition from the cutie funny toddler to the ever-challenging-my-patience preschooler was obvious and unstoppable.

I foresee a year of correction, surprises and definitely laughs from my born-to-be-actor-cum-entertainer.

An ever-ready-to-pose-in-front-of-the-camera kid who never fails to run out of expressions… *laugh*

For the first time, he get to pack goodies bag for his classmates. It was such a relief to know that he have only 14 classmates and that we have alot of sweets left-over from Chinese New Year – see that big container on the left? It was HALF-ed after we included them in the goodies bag. So we merely spent $10 on everything. *Phew*

With our current finances, we couldn’t give Binbin his party like last year. Still, it was only right to give an excuse explanation to the kid yesterday.

“Binbin, because your birthday is on Monday. Everyone needs to go to school and work, so no one is free to come to your birthday party. Since we are celebrating Z.Y.’s birthday today (29 Mar), everyone will celebrate your birthday at the same time too . You will get presents just like Z.Y. jiejie (sister), they will sing a birthday song for you as well. So its the same as you are having a party, just that it is not at our own house, Ok?”

He nodded silently. *Phew*

But one thing will never change. The cake cutting at 12 midnight. A tradition passed down by my parents. No cartoon cakes for him this year, instead Allan bought the same cake he bought for me on my birthday, since the taste of it had been given a thumbs-up by all previously.

And the old folks gave my boy a BIG Hong Bao which he happily put into his piggy bank. :)

The present I gave to her last year was her favourite. This year, the glory has gone to the better man!

Never did we expect her to love the STAEDTLER colour pencils so much, till we saw her jump to her feet after unwrapping it, ran to the kitchen and went, “MaMa (Granny-My MIL)! MaMa! Look at this!!!! You don’t want to buy for me, now ShuShu (Allan) buy for me!”

Such response is the best way of showing gratitude to the giver.
