All About Your Child

2007 has not been really good, be it from the fengshui point of view or personal experiences…

May 2008 be a year full of wealth, health, happiness and successes big or small, I WANT THEM ALL! do I sound too desperate? Yes I am desperate! Its the new year so I shouldn’t rake up the past and all the soapy stuff.

My kids’ wishes for the New Year:-

Binbin :”I want lunch.” (huh?) I guess I have been starving my 2-year-old too often in year 2007.

Keatkeat :”I want lots of cars.” (ya…..) I guess to a car-crazy-boy like Keatkeat, even the 30+ cars that is making a house look more like a car-showroom, is still too few. I don’t think even a 100 cars is a satisfaction number for him.

So may the New Year brings lots of joy to you and your family!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

At this last hour of year 2007, Keatkeat and I reviewed his progress. From drawing just straight lines, colouring out of the pictures and could not differentiate “b” from “d”, to this very day, when he could draw a non-abstract figure, colour within the given picture and recognise all his letters….Indeed, he has progressed.

He is always eager to put up a new worksheet or handicraft to show his Papa and Mummy. We called this special area “the pride of my child”. This area in the living room is always a motivation for him to want to improve on his motor skills.

Seriously, I do suggest that every child should have this special area. It really acts as an auto driving force in the child for constant improvement.

Indeed he has improved greatly. School will start again in 2 days, no matter how much he has improved, my poor boy is still very far behind his classmates. All his classmates were born in the 1st half of the year and my boy, in November.

Although he is only 4 years old, but he can feel the pressure….

So we took down the worksheets and the artworks which he felt so proud of in the closing hour of 2007, leaving the place blank to welcome his new worksheets and handicrafts of 2008 which he will feel an even greater sense of accomplishment.

My child is ready for the new challenges of the year 2008 as he is no longer in nursery anymore, but a big boy now in Kindergarten 1.
