Where’s the toothpick?
Child, Parenting, Toddler September 9th, 2008Woke up at 5am this morning, credit to my little Binbin. In fact he almost made me screamed. I opened my sleepy eyes and I saw him sat crossed-legged with his eyes wide-opened staring at me. How scary is that?!
“Binbin, what’s wrong?” I questioned.
Without making a sound, he dropped his body beside mine, hug me like a big bolster, slapped his own buttocks a couple of times with his small palm…it was a signal for me to ‘pat-pat’ him to sleep.
And so I did. But it took longer than it usually does. He couldn’t really get back to dreamland till an hour later, which was 6am!
By then I was wide awake. Tossing and turning a little, ‘cos there isn’t much space left with Allan, Binbin and I on the queen size bed, for the next hour till 7am, whereby it was time to wake up my Keatkeat for school.
When I was back from the school drop off mission, I was too awake to get back to sleep. So I blog hopped a little in my sis room (my PC is in my sis room) while she prepared herself for work.
I told her what happened and she said (in mandarin): “Zuo Ma-Mee De, Zhen Ke Lian” (direct translation – “being a mommy, its pitiful”) and I replied: “Welcome to Motherhood!”
It was a long day and Allan had been out practically the entire afternoon, so I don’t have my right-hand-man to help me for an hour or two while I nap.
My eye-lids weigh like tonnes now and toothpicks are badly needed to keep them up…hope it doesn’t happen again tonight or rather the next morning at 5am….*Yawn*…Zzzzzzzzzzzz

Lots and lots of coffee is what I do when this happens. Motherhood is great, but very tiring at times eh.

Oh, I had one of those two nights ago. I’m afraid I did lose my cool on my son. I was so tired I was shaking as I rose from his bed. I had lain with him to chase his fears away. Unfortunately I was shaking so badly I woke him on my way out. Back in I went. Ugh. And then work in the morning.

Angeline, I feel for you. My kids sometimes wake up in the middle of the night with nightmares after I get them back to sleep, I can never fall asleep again. Yes, motherhood sure is the best thing on earth but only other mothers can un derstand how tiring it canall be too. i hope that you get more sleep tonight.

One of the reasons I don’t have Kenz sleepover at my house (grandma’s house) more often is because I do not usually sleep soundly when she is here. She likes to sleep in the big bed with me, so I sometimes get a little kick in my back at 3AM.
I love your boys names Keatkeat and Binbin.

Oh girl, how I wish I could say yes to your question, but I can’t….this time its not Binbin, its Keatkeat with his sinus problem…something that I’m about to post real soon…
