As mentioned in my teaser post this fourth pair of glasses for Kitkit was so irresistible, Allan and I found no reason why we should not get it for Kitkit. And these are the reasons:~

If there is an eye wear that lets your active child feel at ease whenever he or she is having fun, skipping, jumping, running or even somersaulting. Would you be interested?

If you are also worried about your child’s myopia skyrocketing too, then you would want to read on to find out how this special lens could help delay myopia progression.

To make it even better, this wonderful pair of glasses was sponsored by Nanyang Optical!

Just like most parents who want the best for their children, if something is not good for my child, even if its free, I would not be interested. So I did a short research on the sponsored eye wear before I accepted the offer.

Thank you Nanyang Optical for giving us this opportunity.

Over the past 3 years, I had several posts on the topic of Myopia, how it broke my heart when I first found out that Kitkit was down with myopia back in 2012. Yes, myopia is NOT a disease, just an eye condition and a very common one too, but it still breaks my heart to see my active boy having to adjust his glasses whenever he is having fun at the playground or doing sports.

Soon, he was so frustrated with spectacles that he totally stopped wearing glasses whenever he is out of the house.
Bad move.
Lousy choice.
As it raised his chances of squinting his eyes and straining his eye muscles, his myopia and astigmatism increased speedily.

As he perspires easily, his spectacles always slides down this nose and that annoyed him.
The need to constantly push it back up irritates him tremendously.
He simply disliked wearing spectacles!

It was getting on his nerves and mine too.
I needed a solution and never found one till Nanyang Optical approached Kitkit to try out the Eyelet Junior Frames last month.
It was definitely HIS LUCKY DAY!

Before we agreed, I did a check on the internet and was amazed at how firmly the Eyelet Junior Frames were able to ‘stick‘ onto the face of active children. They looked so at ease wearing it.

Don’t take my word for it, check out this video yourself.

Eyelet is the world first stitch-locking eyewear using nylon string to lock the lenses within the rims of the frame, thus it is completely screw-less! Most importantly, Eyelet is not easy to get out of shape, and will balance well on the face unlike most thin rimless frame.

I was really excited when we put the Eyelet Junior Frames to the test over the past few weeks. I was watching Kitkit like a hawk to see if he needed to push his glasses up his nose bridge or to adjust the sides of his spectacles when he is having outdoor fun .

DID YOU SEE?!
He did not need to adjust his glasses!
Not even once!

Its still the same after more than two weeks of wearing this amazing Eyelet Junior Frames.
To me, it was the ultimate solution for my active son.*Super Grin*

It was an exciting day for Kitkit when we went down to the branch at Clementi Mall last month.

The sweet optometrist explained in detail the benefits of the Eyelet Junior Frames and showed us the colourful range of frames. It was not difficult at all for Kitkit to decide on a colour, simply because he loves BLUE!

What made Kitkit really excited was the ability to ‘customise‘ his frame by changing the rubbery strip that fits into the side metal bar.

And its done!
The optometrist continued to educate Kitkit on how to care for his new glasses: the correct way to place his glasses on the table, the appropriate way to keep his glasses in the stylish black and red eye wear holder, so as to prevent scratches on the lenses.

After the colour of the Eyelet Junior Frames was confirmed, it was time to talk about the lenses. The optometrist sat us down on the comfortable cushion chair with a file full of information on ZEISS MyoVision Lenses.

I was amazed at how ZEISS MyoVision lenses could actually help people with myopia.

MyoVision by ZEISS is the world’s first single vision spectacle lenses proven to delay myopia progression by an average 30% when compared to traditional spectacle lenses.

Its “Peripheral Vision Management Technology” has been clinically proven in wearer trials co-ordinated by Vision CRC Australia and conducted by Sun Yat-sen University, China.

The ZEISS MyoVision lenses are designed in a way whereby the wearer may experience slight blurred vision when turning their eyes away from the optical centre. This is easily overcome when the wearer turns his/her head in the direction of the gaze.

I LOVE THIS!

You see, Kitkit loves to sit sideways or lie down when he watches cartoon. He does not look straight at the television but chooses to use his ‘side glance’ instead.

Now, with this technology, he would be ‘forced‘ to sit FACING the television, in order to have the clearest vision. *thumbs up*

It was during this session that I learned a little about my eye condition too. I did not know that with my high refraction, my eyeball had now become elongated like the American football and that I should go for an eye check every year, which I never did. Hhhmmm….

Alright, with that said, it was time for Kitkit to get his eyes checked.

The optimetrist was so patient! *salute*
As Kitkit has weak eye muscles, she had to make so many different adjustments in order to get the right prescription for my son. It really took quite a long time before the process was completed in the ‘testing‘ room.

Though the ‘testing‘ time was lengthy, I am very impressed with her professionalism. I would rather my child to have a long test with the right prescription than to have a quick test with an inaccurate prescription. *smile*

4 days later….

 It was collection time! Yeah!

The same optometrist greeted my boy, whose face was beaming with excitement, with a big grin.

First try was not a perfect fit, so she made some alteration before the eye wear sits nicely on Kitkit’s face.

The optometrist showed Kitkit once again on how to care for his new glasses before we left Nanyang Optical at Clementi Mall.

Look at that SMILE on my son’s face! He REALLY LOVES his new spectacles!

The optometrist reminded us that if ever Kitkit felt uncomfortable, we can always bring the glasses back for adjustments.

However, after 3 weeks, even with Kitkit sleeping on his spectacles during car rides for a few times already, the frame maintains it perfect shape. I guessed we would not need to go back for adjustments of any sorts for a long time. *Grin*

If you want your child’s myopia progression to slow down and to let your child feel completely comfortable with his or her glasses when he or she is doing physical activities like sports, then this Eyelet Junior Frames and ZEISS MyoVision Lenses is the perfect combination for your child.

Thanks to Eyelet Junior Frames, Kitkit no longer needs to worry about his spectacle sliding down his nose bridge, or become slanted after some time. Being “stable on his face” whenever he plays or does sports, he no longer complains about eye-fatigue or headaches anymore too.

Now, he loves his spectacles so much, he wears it without the need for us to nag at him anymore. Hooray!

We are deeply grateful to Nanyang Optical for sponsoring Kitkit this amazing eye wear. Without this opportunity, we would still be struggling with the problems that traditional spectacles give.

Thank you Nanyang Optical!
*hugs*
