(( I can’t wait for school to start again!!! I miss blogging so much! With kids in the house 24/7, its really out of the question to get a post done. Ok, one more week. One more week and my life will be back to its usual momentum. Counting down now…. The following 3 posts will be back-dated. Yes, I’m typing THIS post at 1.22am on Friday 19th Jun, but THIS POST was meant to be on 15th. So I ‘cheated’ in a way…. *wink* ))

For the past 1 week or so, Binbin had been climbing onto my bed in the middle of the night. Every single night without fail. In fact, he refused to sleep on his own mattress.

We would grant him his wish only to wait for him to fall asleep and then carry him back down to his mattress. No matter how exhausted he was, without fail, he would ‘wake up’ at wee hours in the night and squeeze himself in between Allan and I on our queen size bed.

I asked “Why”. He said “Very itchy. Mosquitoes bite me. Very itchy.” But I know there wasn’t. ‘Cos if so, I’ll be the first to be bitten. Its been tested too many times to doubt that. *wink*

For the past 2 nights, I gave up my space, went down to his mattress to sleep, instead of squeezing with the two males. Minutes after I entered my dreamland, I was woken by itch too!!!

I suspected it might be an insect or worse, it might be dust mites. My 6th sense was telling me that the possibility of dust mites was 99%; after sleeping on that mattress for 2 consecutive nights. No no no, not that I saw them with my eyes. It was because Keatkeat was scratching every now and then too while he was asleep.

I never knew such microscopic insects existed till 5-6 years ago, when I was a Bazaar organiser. One of my vendor was Rainbow, the company which sells the cleaning system (they refused to call their product : vacuum cleaner), that not only cleans the floor but your mattresses too.

They had this video about dust mites playing repeatedly throughout the 5 days event. So that was how I increased my knowledge about why some kids woke up with very tiny red dots on their body, scratching all over during nap time and minutes later after waking up, the tiny red dots would disappear.

As I recalled what happened over the past week, I realised that Keatkeat and Binbin had those symptoms too.

And so, chip chip chop chop, we went for new mattresses for the boys early in the morning yesterday. I’m glad it came today (15th June. Just in case you forgot this is a back-dated post).

Everyone needed that UNDISTURBED rest so as to be chirpy and bright tomorrow for the trip to the zoo with my MIL, FIL, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

So was my 6th sense right?
