My firstborn turns 7 when the clock strikes 12 tonight… My heart is so filled with emotions and I cannot put a finger to it. I wanted to blog about the journey of these 7 years, the laughter, the tears, the anger, the peace, the snuggle in bed and the ‘leave me alone’ moments….

As if I was talking to my spirit:
You and Your Child have gone through so much, especially ‘this’ child of yours.
What do you want to say to him today?
How do you intend to tell your child how much you love him?
You and Your Child,
a relationship which was once so weak has now become so strong.
What are the most appropriate words you can say that can fully express what is in your heart?
Yet,
it has to be a language that a 7 year old mind can comprehend.
What would be the best sentence?
“I love you(s)” are said everyday,
can you find another sentence that can express more than those 3 words to say to your child?”

I laid beside my elder son,
stroking his head
smelling his unbrushed breath
looking at his half-opened eyes and
slightly opened mouth…

I looked at the clock,
its time to wake him up for school
yet,
my spirit spoke again:
“Do you really want to break this moment of serenity? How many more years do you think you can lie beside your child this way?”

I laid silent
close enough to smell his hair,
but not interrupting his dream

forgetting that time waits for no man
15mins passed
he is going to be late for school if I still don’t wake him up
for a moment,
a sudden sadness came over…

I hugged him.

He woke,
he smiled,
he said: “I love you, Mommy.”
and he hugged me back.

Sometimes what HUGS can express, supersedes what all languages and words can express….

You and Your Child,
are you loving every moment,
even on the most ordinary day?

I Love You KeatKeat….. *hugs*
