Friday, 8th July:
I accompanied Keatkeat to meet his eBay customer, while Allan was at the Polyclinic with Binbin, who was having a fever, lower abdominal discomfort and pain whenever he urine.

The verdict by the Polyclinic was urinary tract infection and the urine test showed blood contents in Binbin’s urine.

We were told to make an appointment with either KK hospital or NUS hospital for further investigation. KK hospital’s next available date was in August then!!! *faint* So we had no other choice but choose NUS hospital, which scheduled us on Monday, 11th July.

9th-10th July:
Waiting can be a Torture sometimes.

Monday, 11th July:
Finally! The wait is over!

Binbin’s usual chatty self made the doctor, trainees and nurses chuckled and giggled.

Doctor: “….will carried out Urine Test…”
Binbin: “OH MAN!”

Doctor: “…and ultrasound…”
Binbin: “Aaarrrggghhhh….”

Doctor: “…and blood test.”
Binbin SLAPPED HIS FORHEAD!

Doctor *chuckled*: “Is he always like that? (I nodded) You have a very expressive boy.” *chuckled again*

  • 2 different Urine Tests
  • Sonography (similar to Ultrasound, just that its scanning the kidney and bladder)
  • Blood Test

During the Sonography, Binbin’s chattiness strikes  again! In return, the examiner giggled and remarked, “Your boy speaks so well! Well done dear.” (I wonder if the ‘dear’ was referring to me or Binbin. *laugh*)

My heart hurts extremely when I saw my cheerful boy burst into tears during the blood test and could not stop crying after that…..until Allan carried him away for a walk while I wait at the Pharmacy.

Doctor said results would be out in one week, but we told him, we want it earlier and so he ‘pushed’ it forward to Wednesday, 13th July 2011.

RESULT DAY ~ Wednesday, 13th July 2011:
Binbin: “Huh?! Its YOU again?!”

Doctor LAUGHINGLY: “Yes, its ME again!” *laugh*

But I was not even smiling when I saw the results. I am more disappointed than happy with the reports. Here’s what the reports said:

The doctor said the good results could be due to the antibiotics given by the Polyclinic. The medication could have killed the cause over the 3 days, or it might be caused by something else instead of urinary tract infection.

Why did I say I am disappointed because it reminded me of my 13days of hospitalisation, which put me through countless scans and tests, injected with Morphine and at the end of it all, they still could not find anything wrong with me. *eyes rolled* (see blog post here.)

So why was there blood in Binbin’s urine earlier has now become a mystery and I do not like such an ending.

He is scheduled to go back in 3 months time…
