Trip to Istana

others

Today the Istana is open to the public from 8.30am – 6.00pm. It has always been my wish to step in and have a look, but I am always informed AFTER the date. *faint* This time, it was Allan who saw the news article on the Straits Times yesterday, if not I would have missed it again. Another wish came true in my birthday month. Yippee! September is proving to be really good for me. *wink*

Tip: Bring Water Bottles!!!!

Just in case you noticed that the only familiar face in the slide was Binbin… ‘cos the other 3 were either too tired or too sweaty from the long walk under the sun. *eyes rolled*

***Free entry for all Singaporeans, $1 for foreigners/tourist. $2 for anyone above 3years old who wish to enter the Main Building.

Project Happy Feet

others

I am doing this on behalf of a great blogger-friend. The one who made the box of yummy dark Chocolate flew all the way from Paris to my little home in Singapore.

Nah. I am NOT DOING THIS because of the chocolate!!!

I am doing this because I was moved by her enormous heart. Her passion to give and still giving. Heavily pregnant and having the most intelligent boy I have seen, her mind is still ‘putting others before self’.

Her words:

“Some time after we came back from Paris, we had a brain wave.  We decided to call up the local homes for children to see how we could contribute directly…

….the staff at Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home which has 84 children under their care, replied me with a list of things they need. I was surprised and saddened to find out that their needs were very basic – socks, slippers, canned food and so on.

Although we were not adverse to paying for these items out of our own pockets, it would not meet our main objective of getting Mal involved in giving.  So we convinced Malcolm that we should sell some of his toys and use the money to pay for the items. He agreed.”

So here’s how you can contribute: 1- by purchasing Mal’s toys and the money will go directly into the fund for the Home; or 2- by (skipping one meal in MacDonalds) cash.

“To Purchase
Pls send me an email haifangsee [at] gmail [dot] com stating

3. Delivery Address (If you prefer the item to be delivered)
4. Payment Mode : Cash / Fund Transfer

Alternatively, you may want to pick up the item from our home.
