What A Way To Start The School Holidays!
Health March 10th, 2012*Scream*
I am going crazy very soon!
With the massive packing still going on in the house for the big move out (read post “HDB 1st Appointment“), PLUS preparation for the upcoming chalet (read post “Our Birthday Present for Binbin’s 7th Birthday“), PLUS school project and homework to be completed within the 1-week break, PLUS the usual household chores, PLUS my many blog post drafts still pending to be completed, with just the title written so that I will not miss out anything, PLUS my other responsibilities as a friend, a human being…….
Now, with Kids being unwell, more attention is needed on them. What a way to start the school holidays!
*Deep Breath*
Yes, taking lots of deep breaths with eyes closed every now and then helps me to think straight.
One lesson I learn this round is NEVER go Google when your child is sick.
When Keatkeat told me that his left abdomen was painful when he eats and when he sits yesterday, Google tells me it may be Colon Cancer! *faint*
Late last night, he told us that the pain was getting worse. We wanted to bring him to the doctor, but there was no fever and he assured us that some tummy ointment and a good sleep would do him well.
Well, its his body afterall, so we went ahead with our 8 year old’s suggestion, but observed him after he entered dreamland.
Early this morning, Allan brought him to the Polyclinic while I brought Binbin to his swimming class.
Guess what did the doctor say?
“I can feel his stool in his stomach when I press.”
*huge laugh*
So it was just constipation that has stretched his intestines too much, which caused the pain to occur!
And there I was thinking about “Colon Cancer” the whole night through. *eyes rolled*
Whenever I see the RED Wordings “Keep Away From Children” on my children’s medicine, I would giggle a little. Isn’t the medicine for the kids? How am I going to give it to them when I have to keep the medication away from them? *laugh* (Alright, me and my nonsense)
As for Binbin’s sickness, he forbid to let me blog about it. So I must respect his decision. But I think, you readers are smart enough to know what it is by looking at the medication, right? *wink*
Binbin’s medicine is very special. My first encounter with such medicine.
The bottle contains powder. We need to pour water to fill half of the bottle first. Shake it well. Then pour more water to fill up the bottle. Thereafter, it must be put into the refrigerator. Medicine must be drank cold. Pretty special eh?
Hope your child is having a great start to this one-week break and not like mine…. *smile*

My no.3 has that tummy ache problem every few months. Once, we even brought him to KKH bc we were sick of the GPs telling us it was not a serious problem – bc of the food he eats, etc, etc – all seemed to be such flaky reasons. We were worried. Anyway, doc at KKH also said it’s also constipation. Oh well. In the end, I gave my boy regular high-dose Probiotics/Prebiotics and the tummy aches don’t occur much.
