Happy 6th Birthday Binbin!

Special Moments

29th April – one day before birthday

This year’s birthday celebration for Binbin is indeed his favourite of favourites. The celebration started on 29th March, one day before his actual day.

We started off with one of his favorite all in one place – IKEA!

After leaving him with the ‘1hour babysitter’ – Smaland, he went chomping his favorite meatballs and fried chicken wings. Seeing all smiles throughout the meal and a completely well licked plate, we knew our pre-birthday plans for him is starting off on the right track! *smile*

Since my boy is a green person who loves plants, insects and animals, yet at the same time loves to explore new places (so you can imagine the challenge we have in search of new and exciting places in small Singapore), we brought him to a place we have yet to visit ~ Hort Park.

It was not a great idea to go there during this period man, ‘cos Hort Park was a really Hot Park!!! With perspiration dripping all the time and soaking our tissue paper thoroughly, Allan and I still had great fun with our inquisitive little boy; especially when the incessant complainer elder brother is not around. Will do a more detailed post about Hort Park later.

With an extremely exhausted elder brother after his Taekwondo practice, we ended Binbin’s pre-birthday celebration.

Not only does Binbin loves to be surrounded by plants, he loves to eat their products too! From fruits to vegetables to nuts, you name it! So long as they grow from the soil, he loves them all. So what was in for pre-birthday celebration dinner? DURIAN!

At 12 Midnight

Its our family tradition to celebrate birthdays when the clock strikes 12 midnight. A tradition which started when I was a kid and I love it! *Smile*

This year he decided to go for great taste instead of cutie sight. No cartoons but pure mouth-watering Strawberry Cheesecake. It was an awesome choice because its done by Freezing the cheesecake and not baking it. Ohhh YUM!

30th March – Actual day

What’s better than starting his birthday celebration with him surrounded by giggles and laughter from his school friends? Hear the children sing “Happy Birthday” to Binbin in 3 different languages in this post ‘Birthday Celebration in School‘.

Thank goodness my boys are in the morning session this year. So right after fetching Keatkeat from school, we headed off to funland (again) ~ Polliwogs. Since we have free entry passes, why not right? *wink*

The outdoor have changed since the last time we went there last November. Besides that, Binbin gets to participate in the craft-making class that day, while Keatkeat spent his time learning his Chinese Spelling. Will do a detailed post later.

Binbin’s favourite colour is Green and that probably explains why he is a Mother Nature Freak! Since Polliwogs is so near to the sea, sand and sky. We had a good 45mins smelling the salty sea, inhaling the fresh air and witnessing the blue skies slowly turned purple… It was beautiful!

Since its Binbin’s Big Day, there is nothing better than ending his favourite day of the year at his favourite Western restaurant.

If you realised, Binbin is very much like his Dad, in terms of taste. Both liked Durian and Tony Romas. Who knows, maybe one day Binbin would end up NOT having a birthday cake and choose to follow his dad, to put candles on the DURIAN fruit itself (see photo here). *laugh*

Yup! That’s it. A Loooooooooooooooooooong celebration that is ALL GOOD to my most adorable 6 year old boy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BINBIN! *smile*

Birthday Celebration in School

Special Moments

It was just 18months ago when Keatkeat celebrated his 6th birthday with his Preschool classmates. Today, I gave Binbin a mini birthday party with his.

The difference was SO HUGE!

Yesterday when I asked what time should I come today to bring in the cake, the teacher announced to the class that it would be Binbin’s birthday today and everyone shouted “YEAH!” *laugh*

Binbin is so well-loved by all his friends. They kept saying “Happy Birthday Zen!” “Are You Happy Today, Zen?”

It saddens my heart when I recalled Keatkeat’s celebration. We had to mini-beg some children to come over to take a group photo. I remembered there were 4 classmates who did not even want to sing the Birthday song for Keatkeat. They just walked away and eat their own snacks. *sigh*

I wonder if every kid who is born in the year of the Rooster are all so chirpy and energetic. They were so eager to sing him the birthday songs. In fact, the stand-in-teacher (his form teacher is sick today) and I had to keep saying, “WAIT! WAIT!” to stop them from singing, because we were trying to get our cameras ready. *laugh*

If you watch the video below, they actually sang the Birthday song in THREE DIFFERENT LANGUAGES! Pretty Impressive eh?

The Owl cake was so well liked by all the children!

They kept asking for double pieces and some even wanted the crumps! *Laugh*

According to the teachers, most birthday cakes were left unfinished and the kids hardly ask for second servings. Was it so delicious?! I didn’t get to try! Even the Birthday boy had a tiny piece for himself only…*pout*

It felt so good to see his BEST FRIEND since Nursery is still so close to him, who stood next to him throughout the singing and the birthday celebration. See their holding-hands photo back in 2009.

Its their last year in Preschool, will they still be in the same Primary School, same Primary Class next year? Only time will tell…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BELOVED BOY! *hugs*
