Should He?
Child, Development Stages March 9th, 2010Its been a really long time since I last had a poll appearing on this blog. So there is one today. *wink*
The ‘adult teeth’ are almost as tall as his milk teeth now. We have waited for weeks and the milk teeth still refused to drop by themselves.
Keatkeat’s loving grandmother thinks that we should NOT wait any longer and visit the Dentist as soon as possible.
**Updated at 10.08pm. After reading first few comments, I realised I forgot to say something VERY IMPORTANT. We took Keatkeat to his school dentist and She REFUSED to do it for him. She said: “Wait for them to drop out on their own.”
What say you?

Updated on 10th March: Went to a private dental clinic and the dentist said the same thing as the school dentist. Let it fall out naturally. No extraction needed.

Need to visit the dentist to see what he/she says. Here is another blogger whose gal faced the same thing: http://mdmsaw.blogspot.com/2010/03/awaiting-tooth-fairy.html

Hi Suhanya,
My fault.
I FORGOT to write in the blog post that we had visited the school dentist and she REFUSED to remove them for him.

Get a 2nd or 3rd opinion ..
It look rather scary to me in the pic ..
Is the adult teeth behind the milk teeth? If they are, will it interfere with the ‘normal’ growth of the adult teeth?

saw ur update. so u will wanna bring keat to another dentist to seek a 2nd opinion?
If i am the kid, i will prefer to wait for it to drop out by itself. Afterall, I used to do that when I was a child. My tooth will fall out after months or when I’m chewing on my lunch/dinner. Haha. And my teeth are still pretty straight now. =)

Thank you michelle for the link.
That blog is one of the regular blogs I read. But I had been a bad blogger. Really have some time management issue since 2010. So I missed that post. Thank you Michelle.

Flower Mummy,
Yes, the adult teeth are BEHIND the milk teeth.
but the school dentist REFUSED to remove them because she said it will NOT interfere with the normal growth.
*pout*
So I’m confused.

Go for 2nd opinion =)
if the advise given is the milk teeth not interfering the adult teeth’s growth. I’ll leave them as it is till they decide it’s time to leave. heehee

Hi Angeline, my girl has the same problem. The teeth eventually dropped off on their own but after a very loooong time. Haha. Now she has the same problem with the teeth next to the front ones, the are just refusing to drop off altho the permanent teeth are fully grown now. I have some useful links for you in my old blog post here. You might like to check it out.

What a coincidence… similar topic. :) IMO, it’s best u get a 2nd opinion. U may want to chk with the dentist :
1) if leaving the bb teeth there will cause anything later.
2) Will extracting the bb teeth now help in aligning the permanent teeth? (coz u said the permanent ones r as tall as his bb teeth)
Wishing Keatkeat a pleasant experience at the dentist’s.
