Back to School
Child, Parenting, Preschool, School-study January 2nd, 2008Keatkeat ended his nursery class. In this new year, my big boy is in Kindergarten 1. According to the teacher, there will be some big changes. They are required to learn to read 4 selected books all by themselves by the end of May!
How times have changed?! I remember I was almost 7 years old before I could do that! Kids are learning so much more, even for Keatkeat’s age of 4, as compared to our times.
The teacher continues to scare the kids by saying that there will be more homework in K1 as compared to Nursery, so be prepared to study, study and study….awwww…so boring! There should always be a balance in everything, shouldn’t it? Kids are kids, they still need time to play, don’t they. My heart-aches for the children of today’s world.
Is your child facing some sort of stress from school? I can totally understand that, man!

I can’t even imagine what it is like for kids in school today. It seems there is so much more for them to learn and they are expected to learn it in the same amount of time as before.
