Birthday Celebration in School

Special Moments

It was just 18months ago when Keatkeat celebrated his 6th birthday with his Preschool classmates. Today, I gave Binbin a mini birthday party with his.

The difference was SO HUGE!

Yesterday when I asked what time should I come today to bring in the cake, the teacher announced to the class that it would be Binbin’s birthday today and everyone shouted “YEAH!” *laugh*

Binbin is so well-loved by all his friends. They kept saying “Happy Birthday Zen!” “Are You Happy Today, Zen?”

It saddens my heart when I recalled Keatkeat’s celebration. We had to mini-beg some children to come over to take a group photo. I remembered there were 4 classmates who did not even want to sing the Birthday song for Keatkeat. They just walked away and eat their own snacks. *sigh*

I wonder if every kid who is born in the year of the Rooster are all so chirpy and energetic. They were so eager to sing him the birthday songs. In fact, the stand-in-teacher (his form teacher is sick today) and I had to keep saying, “WAIT! WAIT!” to stop them from singing, because we were trying to get our cameras ready. *laugh*

If you watch the video below, they actually sang the Birthday song in THREE DIFFERENT LANGUAGES! Pretty Impressive eh?

The Owl cake was so well liked by all the children!

They kept asking for double pieces and some even wanted the crumps! *Laugh*

According to the teachers, most birthday cakes were left unfinished and the kids hardly ask for second servings. Was it so delicious?! I didn’t get to try! Even the Birthday boy had a tiny piece for himself only…*pout*

It felt so good to see his BEST FRIEND since Nursery is still so close to him, who stood next to him throughout the singing and the birthday celebration. See their holding-hands photo back in 2009.

Its their last year in Preschool, will they still be in the same Primary School, same Primary Class next year? Only time will tell…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BELOVED BOY! *hugs*

Cakes For Kids

Special Moments

My sis and her boyfriend decided to celebrate Binbin’s birthday earlier this year because of their overseas trip during Binbin’s actual Birth date 30th March. Thinking of making it more special for the little boy, they decided to let him decorate his own birthday cake….

After bringing the kids’ masterpiece home, everyone sang the very first round of “Happy Birthday” to Binbin. There are 2 more to go.

Before the four headed home with the cake, it was a treat to Pizza Hut…

Present from Big Big Gor Gor and Ah Yee. This is Binbin’s 3RD Lion Head. First was bought by his Papa and Second was from his Grandpa, all because it ‘breaks’ so easily….. *sigh*

Happy 10th Birthday Niece!

Special Moments

Today, we had an early birthday celebration for my 2nd niece, Z.Y.. She was born on the day before Binbin, of cos, in a different year that is. Being in the same Zodiac sign as her, mutual understanding and telepathy between us are great. Sometimes, a little too-good-to-be-true. *wink*

So there you have it. My little snake-girl is 10 years old already and I cannot help but being reminded of my own age, since its so easy to calculate. Its funny how girls of this age tries to name themselves after their idols. What surprised me more was the parents, being quite ‘strict’ usually, actually allowed her to put her nickname on her cake. Nice! *Grin*

Today, was a day of drizzles. As the heavens open up and before the sun said “Good Night“, a rainbow of hope came and wished her “Happy Birthday” too.

An evening with 7 kids, sparkling fun is unavoidable.

And not forgetting presents too…

Giving Their Best Smiles

With Their 'Best' Expressions

Present From Keatkeat

KeatKeat chose this because there was a menu in the set.

Present From Binbin

BinBin chose this because he remembered Z.Y. likes ‘food’ that had-been-cut and could-be-joined-back-because-of-Velcro. But the main reason was because he had a big basin to wash the dishes in. (he is usually assigned to be the ‘dishwasher’ during cookery-playtime.) *laugh*

Present from Allan and I

Cinnamoroll is her current favourite character. Well, everything that we bought were on her wish list afterall. Thank goodness she gave us a long list to choose from. *wink*

March Holiday

Development Stages, Special Moments

One week March School Holiday is almost over. So many things have happened:
~Disciplinary issues
~Siblings squabbles
~Endless fun and outings
~Accidents
~Repair
~Breakdowns
~Visit from Angels…

But I think, the most significant event has to be THIS!

As stated in the ‘Teeth Development‘ post, Keatkeat is right on time for the Central Incisors to fall.

Two weeks ago, Keatkeat cried when he was halfway through his lunch. As parents, its tears on our son’s face, but a sword in our hearts. So loving Daddy wanted to end his misery earlier and attempted to pluck the Central Incisors out for Keatkeat. BUT FAILED! *laugh*

It was that shaky (above video) since last month. After the experience we had with his ‘First Shaky Tooth‘, the impatient father knew that visiting the dentist is not going to help. That was why he tried to BE the dentist!

Yesterday, while we were taking a break from our shopping, Keatkeat sat beside me and went, “Nih..Nih…” He was trying to balance his left tooth, on the tip of his tongue and preventing it from falling over.

Allan and I were so excited and kept praising our 7 year old boy.

I wrapped the fallen tooth nicely with tissue paper and in that split seconds, Keatkeat turned totally pale!

He was gagging and feeling giddy. So we ended our fun and went straight home.

There was no blood at all throughout the whole event. We were worried. But soon after an hour of rest at home, the active boy was back to normal and guess what? THE OTHER CENTRAL INCISOR FELL OFF TOO! *clap clap clap*

I guess the two central incisors are truly good friends. It was only an hour apart. One just cannot bear to leave the other. *laugh*

Now, Keatkeat giggles at his own pronounciation of ‘F’ and ‘S’….. it comes with extra wind and saliva too. *laugh*

What a memorable day! Its such a day that makes being a parent all worthwhile. *Grin*
