All About School Holiday
ParentingSchool Holiday is about emptying Mommy’s cloth peg box and turning the cloth pegs into fasteners for their bear’s crazy handkerchief outfit. Probably getting ready for Halloween. *giggle* Now, who said that boys should not play dress-up and that dress-up is a girls’ game? *eyebrows raised*
So long as the game does not cause any physical harm or mental stress to your child, why must there be restriction? Aren’t the famous fashion designers in the world mostly males? *wink*

School Holiday is about falling into Mommy’s trap. *evil laughter* Well, to Keatkeat, it is lots of fun to be able to ‘shoot’ the 4 pots of plants with ‘his water gun’. Little did he know that it was part of Mommy’s plan to build up his finger muscles. Combining ‘hardwork’ with play is what Mommy is best at. *wink*
Keatkeat has butter fingers. He has difficulty holding things for a long time and drops things easily, regardless of its size or weight. From a piece of tissue paper to a ball to a bottle. You name it, he dropped them at least once. He needs to put down his utensils after 3 or 4 scoops, at every meal, to ‘rest’ his fingers…..
He needs to twist his fingers after writing every sentence. Even though Daddy and Mommy stops him from the endless cracking of his knuckles, he debated that it makes his fingers feel better or else he cannot continue his homework. *eyes rolled*
So the key is to practice those finger muscles, practice practice practice….. He got sick of pressing those stress balls. So ‘shooting the plants’ was Mommy’s alternative ‘finger-muscles-building’ strategy. *wink*

School Holiday is about going to a faaaaarrrrr away swimming pool, just for a dip. We went to Geylang East Swimming Complex. Several minutes drive from our neighbourhood swimming complex.
Well, to me, School Holiday should be a special time for children. Lots more time to do things differently and try new things. School Holiday is a time for exploration. Is exploration the theme for your child during School Holiday too?
=====
School Holiday is about doing something that Mommy Angeline does NOT like – School-work! *laugh* Remember my post about the new plan for Keatkeat’s studies – “Another Daddy-Mommy Talk” ? Yup, that’s right, words spoken is in vain, if actions are not taken.
Oh! By the way, Keatkeat is standing because he loves to stand while doing his worksheets. Its NOT a punishment from me, if that was on your mind.
As for Binbin (right), he is a super kid when it comes to doing worksheet: Full Concentration and Complete with Speed. *muack*
=====
School Holiday is also a time for creativity. Binbin’s (left) and Keatkeat’s (right) Digital Online Freehand Artwork. The benefits? Endless creativity at work as there are no fixed shapes to choose from. Endless choice of colours. Everything was created from scratch and can be ‘undone’ anytime they want.
The *bleh*? Myopia might increase… hhhmmmm….
=====
School Holiday is about ending it with loud drums and cymbals and watching the 16th Ngee Ann City National Lion Dance Championships 2010 from VIP seats, 7 storey high.
Ssshhhh…. its my Lion Dance Fanatic boys’ secret viewing spot for the past 4 years. So please don’t ‘fight’ with them. VIP Seats are limited. *giggle*
As if it was planned. The boys get to enjoy the competition till late and need not worry about getting up early the next day, ‘cos its School Holiday!
So how did your child spend his or her super short one week School Holiday?
