First time driving up to Desaru from Singapore had been an eye opener for Keatkeat and Binbin and a confidence builder for Allan and I. The urge to explore continued till the day we left. Yes, we took a TOTALLY DIFFERENT route back to Johor Bahru (JB). According to the locals, THIS alternative route which we took WAS the route to go Desaru from Singapore BEFORE the new Desaru highway was built.

It was during our way back to JB, that we discovered the Famous Kota Tinggi Fireflies Boat Tour. We checked out the place and we preferred the boat that we were on when we went for our Fireflies Cruise nearer to our resort.

The kids said goodbye to the birds in the aviary, while I bid farewell to the stairs and long walks to the reception from our room.

We also waved to the iconic bridge (from afar…), which we traveled on when we first arrived at Desaru, after our trip to the Crocodile World

and the boys took a lovely shot standing on a super mobile floating platform:

“C’mon Binbin, come here…”

Slowly, but surely, Binbin held on tight to the handrails and joined his Papa and Gorgor:

Not forgetting to mention the wonderful lane which we chanced upon that sold low-priced food and goods.

And coming back home with us were the yummy fruits bought from the Desaru Fruit Farm. Yup, we specially made a turn in again to grab some fruits before we head down to JB…

…and Keatkeat said “Byebye” to the unique Puffer Fish lamps sold in the shop too…

I think for me, its the BREEZE that I will miss the most about Desaru…

Thank goodness the Malaysia Government built the Desaru Highway, ‘cos the alternative route which we took to go back to JB was full of vehicles and traffic lights. Having said that, we still managed to reach JB before our movie ‘Ice Age 4’ starts at 5pm.

In fact, we even had enough time to grab a bite at the Sizzling StoneGrill Restaurant.

And without anymore delays, after the enjoyable time in the cinema, we drove straight back home ~ Singapore.

With that, ends our much anticipated 3Days 2Nights self-drive adventure to Desaru…

Had as much fun when we left, as we came…
